| A U.S. Army soldier keeps watch after an outbreak of fighting in Falluja, October 2, 2003. Police said several people were wounded when American troops returned fire after coming under attack. Iraqi policeman Asaad Abdul-Karim said an Iraqi man was killed and a woman and a six-year-old girl were wounded by U.S. gunfire. They were apparently caught in the crossfire during the battle in which two Iraqi police were also wounded, he said. |
