Thanks for your information Ole (and Russell of course) and you’re right - it’s not news that employers occasionally lie! We have exactly the same inspection requirements in Sweden which is why we don’t hoist double-stacks. It’s largely by putting out rumours such as “they do it in other ports” that the employers manage to spread malpractices and breach safety regulations around the globe and it’s a good idea to check them out.
We maybe ought to get together and exchange dirty tricks? - we know a few ourselves over here! There’s an international dockers conference coming up in May in Barcelona so.........
