Brothers and Sisters,
Yesterday Jan. 19 the IBU Executive Council held a special hearing to answer my challenge and 2 other rank-n-files. In the end they decided to open over 50 challenged ballots and count them. The end result was that Dave Frieboth still won by 10 votes. I have decided to not pursue the other outstanding issues contained in my challenge to the IEB.
Again I want to thank all of my supporters up and down the Coast who helped me in this tough campaign. I am going back to Sea on Sat. the 22nd and will be back ashore in a couple months. I urge all of you who were activated by this campaign to bring your energy, ideals, and commitment to change, to put your energies into your union and work with the current adminstration to defend our way of life as Boatmen on the west coast. I will see you all at the convention in Portland.
