Brothers and Sisters,

One final comment before I ship out, In regards to the plea for help from the activists from the Direct Action Network. I along with several labor activists in the port of Seattle have been working with these people in attempting to build a post-WTO Coaliton here in Seattle in order to continue the fight against the threat of Global Corporatism. So far we have had 3 meetings attended by over 100 people at each meeting from Labor, DAN, Students, Community activists, Faith Groups, etc.

All of these groups hold high regard for the ILWU for our legacy as well as our participation in the WTO here in Seattle. I strongly urge any of you who are available to attend the next meeting Jan. 30, 5 pm at the Teamsters hall at 6th and Taylor. It is important that the ILWU voice be heard in this coalition, and that we don’t go back to business as usual after the great showing of solidarity here in Seattle.

As a sidenote if you live in another port there may be similar Post-WTO organizations springing up that need our help, if not take the initiative 2 start one as we have done here in Seattle and maybe we can take the lead Coastwise on leading a fightback against those who would like to eliminate our voice in this era. A contact here in Seattle for the Coalition is Sarah Koch at 206 770 -9044. In addition any support we could lend to the legal struggle for the peaceful activists going 2 trial up here would be great. See ya.

In Solidarity
