Mr. Lawrence Thibeaux, President
ILWU Local 10
400 N. Point
San Francisco, California 94133

Dear Lawrence,

Greetings! From your brothers and sisters at ILA Local 1422 in Charleston, S.C. We want to express to you and the members of Local 10 our deep appreciation for all the support and solidarity you have shown during our recent struggles. Please let your members know that because of their support, we have won our battle with the Nordana Lines and will be working those vessels beginning the first of May. Unfortunately, five of our members are still facing felony charges. But with Gods help and the support of friends like you, we will be victorious with these cases as well.

I have been made aware of the struggles you and your membership are presently facing. Your quest for parity with other ILWU locals is one in which we can identify. Local 10 should not be treated any differently than any other ILWU local. So we applaud your efforts. As president of ILA Local 1422, I assure you that the longshoremen in Charleston are ready to assist you in any way we can. So, please do not hesitate to call on us because as you all have taught us,“An injury to one is an injury to all.”

Fraternally,

Kenneth Riley
President
