I’m glad to hear many mainland Rank and File like yourself speaking in support of Leonard Hoshijo. Leonard has worked very hard for my Unit in tourism. Here on the Big Island I work at the Orchid at Mauna Lani a hotel with 600+ ILWU members. Leonard was the spokesman for our last two negotiations and really helped us help ourselves. He helped prove once again that with Rank and File participation/education we can continue to move forward. Further he has been the leadership that has put well over a thousand new ILWU members in the ranks. This is the type of leadership I want to see more of in my local and throughout this Union.
