Charleston Defense: Northern California meeting

There will be a meeting Tuesday January 16 at 7 PM in Local 10’s Henry Schmidt room for the Northern California Labor Committee in Defense of the Charleston Longshore Workers. Support for this critical longshore struggle is growing on both the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts.

Over thirty ILWU members from Local 10, Local 34, Local 54, the IBU and Local 6 participated in the last defense meeting. All ILWU members and casuals are encouraged to attend and help organize to stop the state of South Carolina from imprisoning 5 longshore workers for up to 5 years for picketing to defend their jobs and unions. Labor solidarity actions can defeat unionbusting, but it takes organizing!
