LAXT Back In Operation After Agreement

LAXT workers gained a 36% wage increase, Bloody Thursday paid holiday, paid vacation and much much more, retuning to work early on 1-13-01. The follow story appeared in the Cunningham Report 1/15/01.

Striking union workers returned to their jobs Saturday morning at the LAXT coal and petroleum coke terminal in the Port of Los Angeles after the ILWU reached agreement on a tentative contract with Savage Pacific Services. Savage Pacific runs the terminal’s backlands operation under contract to LAXT. ILWU dock workers at the water-end of the conveyor system that connects the backlands to the wharf also returned to work Saturday. The dockers had been honoring the Savage Pacific strike. (1/15/01)
