The struggle at JeffBoat continues. After a successful“wildcat” (unofficial) strike on May Day, these workers are continuing their efforts to build militant, aggressive and membership controlled unionism at the JeffBoat ship yard. JeffBoat is the largest U. S. inland shipyard located on the Ohio River in Jefferson, Indiana.
Today we received the following news from the workers, which we would like to share with the international workers’ movement:
“Thanks a lot for the solidarity and good wishes. . . Right now we have formed a Workers Defense Committee within the shipyard and are having our own meetings. We seem to be staying strong but the company is trying very much to retaliate and crush us.”
The JeffBoat workers can use solidarity donations to help continue their activities.
