Charleston message from Genoa

8 June 2001

The following message was sent via Jack Heyman on the eve of the Charleston 5 rally.

Dear comrade,

I have received your document and statement about the longshore workers struggle in Charleston Port to defend their decent living standards and working conditions.

For me it’s impossible to be present at the March and Rally for Worker’s Rights.

Please will you communicate to Charleston longshoremen and unions my solidarity and tell me how I can support their fight.

Yours fraternally
