Brothers and Sisters,
As the International Executive Board rapidly approaches (6/20-6/22 at the Harry Bridges Building, 1188 Franklin in SF). The IEB Trial Committee says they will issue a report at that meeting.
Despite saying charges against all would be heard - So far only charges against Brother Pecker have been heard. The charge against Sister Duke was stopped midway. And yesterday they started looking at the recall petition that was used as a excuse to take Brother Ratcliff out of office. It is clear there will be no hearing of charges against Flotte and Valdivia.
The next IEB meeting is scheduled for 3 months from now. So it is clear that the International will cover for the recalled President and recalled Secretary Treasurer until the next election. Justice? We dont think so.
Yesterday Brother Ratcliff showed that there are over 600 pensioners in the San Jose division. The flottdivia forces have collected only 47 signatures (and some of those are questionable). This doesnt include the working members.
15% of the eligilble voters is required for a valid recall. 47 is less than 8% of the So. Bay retirees. That should be the end of the recall and Rhinas reinstatement with back pay and benefits.
Flottdivia have moved Box-USA from the S. Bay to the E. Bay. For the last 10 years the members at Box-USA have voted in the S. Bay, had contracts negotiated by the S. Bay BA, and had greivances handled by the S. Bay BA. The move hasnt been brought to the locals General Executive Board. The move tries to make it so fewer signatures are needed to get the 15% to recall Ratcliff. And moves to make the E. Bay which has lost members at Media Copy (over 300 so far as it moves toward closure), Rex Pacific (closed), Rubber Stampede (closed -about 100 jobs lost), CA Fats and Oils -PVO (cutbacks), PakTank (closed) seem bigger. Dirty politics.
Roberto Flotte who is to sick to testify, Is not too sick to sign business letters and make phone calls to stewards about Union business.
