Comment on The Nation

The Nation article by JoAnn Wypijewski offers the keenest insight so far into the Charleston 5 struggle. Not only does she have a good sense of longshore history and politics, but she’s not afraid to call ‘em as she sees ‘em when it comes to the ILA’s labor faking president John Bowers, who finally showed his face in Charleston. The only key point she left out is that Nordana Lines calls at three ports in the U. S. – Charleston, Houston and Baltimore. Charleston and Houston have ILA contracts. Baltimore which is in Bowers’ Atlantic Coast district is still being worked by scabs!
