Moreover I hope that you, and others, will apreciate that legislation in different countries is different and that it is not very helpful to call for actions the way you do it. On the contrary again, if we would send a circular to our affiliates in the language you ‘advise’ many unions even would not be able to do what we want them to do.
I hope you too have listened carefully to what the ILWU lawyer had to say at the ILWU Conference in Long Beach. At the meeting you already disagreed with some of his remarks, but what he said was perfectly in line with our and my personal knowledge and experience. That’s what I also said in Long Beach.
