More detail on European Port Actions

Information from the International Dockworkers Council gives some more detail of the strengths and weaknesses of the European Port Actions on 25 September.
Sweden: 50 ports in Sweden shut down, showing good unity and strength. The very effective action had a lot of favourable media coverage.
Norway: 45 ports shut down
Finland: about 30 ports shut down.
Portugal: Only Lisboa, Aveiro, Sines and a small port of Açores shut down.
Spain:
- Bilbao, Gijon, Santander, Marin, Vigo, La Coruña and Ferrol in the north of Spain did not stop working.
- Tarragona in Catalunya continued working.
- Sevilla in the south of Spain (Andalucia) had a stoppage of the crane men, not affiliated to Coordinadora.
- In the port of Cádiz (Andalucia) there was a 1 hour stoppage of CCOO and UGT affiliates.
- Gandia (Valencia) held a stoppage from 13h to 15h (lunch time) of non Coordinadora affiliates.
- Valencia held a stoppage of 40% of the workers, non Coordinadora affiliates. Some Coordinadora affiliates had to stop due to the action by crane men (non Coordinadora).
The IDC information from Spain contradicts the ITF account.
