Thanks for the welcome but I’m sorry to say that I’m not at all sure as to which club you are referring and have no recollection of recent applications for membership to any - I’d be extremely grateful if you could clarify any misunderstandings I may possibly have.
I hope you didn’t read my original message to this list as coming from the IDC. I signed it as an official of the Swedish Dockworkers Union - there is a difference! As to what was expressed at the recent International Dockworkers Solidarity Conference in L A, I would suggest that we discuss any further developments elsewhere and less publicly.
I’m sure however that we made perfectly clear during the conference not only the IDC’s (official) views about the timing of your proposed actions but also of the necessity of coordination and cooperation and making sure that we show strength and unity. That, we will most certainly do on the 25th!
If we are to succeed in our common aims to maintain standards on the European docks then we must act as “European Dockers” regardless of our affiliations - let’s try to keep it that way.
