Thank you Peter. Welcome to the club of trade unions taking serious action on the 25th of September against the proposals for a EU Directive which aims to increase competition by worsening employment of experienced and trained dockers, working conditions and saftey, to name only a few problems.
We, I mean ITF and our European arm ETF, have been campaigning against the proposal for a Directive from the moment (February) I got a copy of a draft for a draft. Indeed I read your message as a message from the IDC, sorry misunderstanding. I hope the IDC will finally come on board and to be honest I expect that it will happen as consultation and coordination is going on on national levels in some countries as you too most probably know. I certainly appreciate that the Swedish Dockworkers Union will join the action day and I, like you, hope that there will be coorination on national level in Sweden too.
