Contacting Congress

Steve,

It would be much appreciated if when you or anyone else makes out an e-mail for the brothers and sisters, about contacting our local representatives in congress, state, and local office holder, that we are given an e-mail address or phone number of these servants of ours. Especially you Steve, since you are our Communications Director. It makes it nice and easy for us to contact these individuals. Most people will read the e-mails and not do anything about it because it is too hard for them to find out how to locate our representatives. thanks,

Dragan

Good point, but if you were to get familiar with the ILWU’s official web site http://www.ilwu.org/ you can go to the legislative page and enter your zip code and get the email addresses for all your representatives. The web site, which unfortunately for budget reasons (there was nothing put into the 2000-2003 International budget for the web site at the 2000 Convention in Portland) is lagging, but the best part of it is the legislative page that our D. C. staff keeps up. Check it continuously for updates, sample letters to Congressional representatives and of course, email addresses.

Dragan,

Here is the web-site for the US Senate. You will find a place where you can find Senators list by either state or alphabetically. So for you, you will click on Washington and find a listing for the states Senators. Next email will send site for US House of Representatives.

Here’s the one for the House of Representatives. At the lower left hand you will see an icon to write/identify your Congressman.
