WHAT THEY DECIDED

RESOLUTION 1

Submitted by Port of St. John (New Brunswick Canada), Port of Le Havre (France), Port of Montreal (Quebec).

All the delegates present at this International Dockers' Conference condemn this act of aggression against their fellow dockers in Liverpool. All delegates present here, in as far as their mandates allow, take it upon themselves to carry out every type of direct and indirect action in their respective ports, such as boycotts, slowdowns (go-slows) and all other methods dockers are familiar with, which can affect their productivity and efficiency, against all vessels and companies which continue to do business with the employers of the 500 dockers sacked in Liverpool. All delegations present also make a commitment to keep their fellow conference participants informed of all methods employed, and to make all the unions not present here aware of the situation and encourage similar action on their part. These initiatives are but the first phase of efforts to support their fellow dockers sacked in Liverpool. Actions carried out within the framework of both phases will not cease until the 500 sacked dockers are reinstated in their jobs.
