Mersey dockers mounted a mass picket last night against the return of ACL ships to the port. Tug men refused to cross the picket and this delayed the ACL ship, "Atlantic Conveyor" by three hours. The ship finally came into port in high winds without tug assistance.
Two other ships not belonging to ACL were more seriously delayed by the action. "Cast Bear" and "Orimulsion" were both delayed by 12 hrs. This is the second time "Cast Bear" has been delayed recently. Ten days ago it was held up for 5 hrs in Montreal when Liverpool dockers occupied a crane there.
