We can now confirm that the above conference will definitely take place. After 11 months of constant struggle and hardship, our campaign has once again been lifted by the further decline in the Mersey Docks & Harbour Company declared profits and an overall fall in their trading position on the Stock Exchange.
Therefore, it is very important that all of our International friends and comrades make every effort to attend. It is our belief that one more big effort on an international basis will bring victory for the Liverpool dock workers and their families.
To date the following Ports have declared their participation:
San Francisco (ILWU) USA; Montreal, Quebec; Sydney, Australia: Le Havre, France; Gothenburg and Stockholm, Sweden; Lisbon, Portugal; Genoa, Italy; and Arhus, Denmark.
It would be much appreciated if those other countries who have indicated they would like to come, could confirm as soon as possible. Also could we ask all delegates to fax through their travel arrangements.
