Bernard Cliff, Port Operations Director for the Mersey Docks & Harbour Company, who led negotiations on behalf of the company in the present docks dispute, died in hospital today.
Cliff had been in hospital in a serious condition for several weeks following his involvement in a car crash. His place in the negotiations is being taken by Peter Jones,
