The sacked Liverpool dockers are putting out a CD to raise money for the Families Hardship Fund. Some of the biggest names in British rock music are donating tracks, as are a number of up and coming Liverpool bands. Definites include Dodgy, Manic Street Preachers, Cast, Space, The Lovers and Billy Bragg.
The release of the album is imminent, but the dockers are trying to get one more big name on to the list, and that is Bruce Springsteen. They've had no luck with his European management, so they're putting out an appeal to their supporters in the USA to try and make contact with the Boss himself.
They need a track, permission from the recording company, and the OK from the music publishers. So, anybody seeing this who knows Bruce, get word to him that the dockers need his help.
