TO ALL THE DOCKERS AROUND THE WORLD

Amsterdam, 5 September 1997

The day we know as the International Action Day we are having a meeting with almost all the dockers of Amsterdam.

We will show them the movie "ALL FOR ONE" and afterwards we have a discussion about the problems we all face.

We will tell them again about the problems around the world and specific in Liverpool.

  1. "We have the same struggle"
  2. The present developments concerning the position of dockers.
  3. Mechanisation and automation.
  4. Privatisation of the harbours.
  5. There is a big attack, worldwide, on all our attainments.
  6. Opposing the power of multinationals.

As you see we have a large agenda, this will take a lot of time, probably the whole day.

When we do nothing, we have to face the fact that we go down through casualisation.

Deregulation breaks down constituted rights to make way for casual workers.

Because of the troubles of the Arbeidspool other bosses are waiting behind the trees like vultures.

Yesterday it is announced that another Stevedore will sack 25 men in October.

In a cocoa factory nearby another 75 men are in serious problems.

Action for Liverpool,
Action for Amsterdam
Action for our rights

Warlike,

On behalf of the Amsterdam Dockers

Ron, Secretary of the Arbeidspool
