re: International Day of Solidarity
date: 8/9/1997
We are pleased to inform you that in all major ports in Australia, i.e. Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Port Kembla, Melbourne, Burnie, Adelaide and Fremantle there will be a stoppage on the day shifts and evening shifts for a period of five hours, in support of the International Day of Solidarity.
Many job meetings are being held to-day and will pass on the resolutions as they come in. We hope that the International Day of Action will be a success and go towards the re-instatement of the Sacked Liverpool Dockers.
Last night on SBS TV Australia wide was Ken Loach's documentary "Strike" which we consider to portray and expose the role of those who could have given support but didn't and we will continue our support for your just re-instatement.
I will see you soon and again I am very honoured to be there at your invitation to speak on the 2nd Anniversary of the infamous Lock-Out.
VICTORY TO THE LIVERPOOL DOCKERS - NEVER CROSS A PICKET LINE
