Dear Brothers,
It has now been over 23 months since five hundred Liverpool dockers were fired from their jobs without any reasons. For now more than 23 months, five hundred families are in the street, without any alternative source of income, due to an excessive and anti-social interpretation of British legislature. For now more than 23 months, strike-breakers have been working regardless of the conditions in the Liverpool Port.
Dear Brothers, we are not able to understand why your Union is not backing the Liverpool Dockers' fight. We are not able to understand why you refuse to debate the Liverpool dispute and why you didn't and don't sustain Liverpool Dockers' fight for their reinstatement.
A Liverpool Dockers' defeat could mean a weakening of the labour movement on the national and international level. Therefore we ask you to keep finally their struggle in your hands and to give them all your support.
International dockers and workers movement will stand by you until the victory.
Yours Fraternally,
Antonio Benvenuti
