For the second time in under twenty four hours, a coalition of union organizers from the Inland Boatmen' Union (IUB), Sailors Union of the Pacific (SUP), International Longshore amd Warehouse Union (ILWU) Locals 6, 10, & 13, the Operating Engineers Local 3, The IBEW, and the Berkeley and San Francisco IWW as well as various surporters shut down the terminal in Oakland.

The container ship, Neptune Jade is docked in the Port of Oakland and is bound (eventually) for Liverpool where a two year old labor dispute continues. This picket was in solidarity with the striking Liverpool Dockers who are fighting privitization of the port in Great Britain.

Two pickets were thrown up today in Oakland. Both times Longshoremen refused to cross the picket line, although according to their contract, they had to wait until a Mediator officially ruled that the picketers represented a threat to their health and safety.

The pickets were augmented at sea by the presence of a certain tugboat operated by resourceful Wobblies.

The boat is still docked, but no cargo has been unloaded. There will be two more attempts to unload tomorrow (MONDAY). We **REALLY** need people to be present for both shifts tomorrow. The company (that owns the particular terminal at which the Neptune Jade is docked) is going to try to get an injunction by tomorrow afternoon. A huge labor presence is **ESSENTIAL**.
