29th September
As of Monday afternoon in Oakland, 3 shifts have already been stopped. The "Neptune Jade" was originally scheduled to sail on Sunday at 3 pm. If the next picket is successful, it will cause a 36 hour delay.
So far, all trucks arriving at the Yuen terminals have respected our picket line, so the impact may reach beyond the one ship. Maersk uses a nearby berth.
Crew off the "Neptune Jade" told us the ship is bound for Japan on its final voyage.
The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) is seeking a restraining order, and we are trying to mobilise as many people as possible to join the picket lines.
The news from Sheerness and the DTI occupation is circulating and inspiring us, and we will inform the picket that Mersey Docks 100% subsidiary Medway Ports owns Sheerness and acts as Port Authority for Thamesport.
We hope our action is lifting your spirits. Keep it going!
