Comments on the contract

This is my first time speaking my mind on this matter. I’m an extra-casual in Seattle and don’t have a great deal of involvement in the union’s matters, but I have formed some impressions.

I have heard some of the guys talk about maneuvers that the P.M.A. plans to pull in the near future: Moving cargo through the west coast of Mexico and bypassing the I.L.W.U. and Panama.

I’ve heard one of the fellows from Hawaii looking to switch from his local to Seattle and having to go through the courts for a decision because the P.M.A. has effectively partitioned the solidarity of the I.L.W.U. into segments.

I myself have traveled up and down the west coast from Seattle to Long Beach and can’t get work although I have experience. The P.M.A. in Long Beach wouldn’t even consider looking at my records.

I’ve watched and remember the outrages pulled on I.L.W.U. members in Alaska. But there again, they are in another sector of P.M.A. influence and jurisdiction.

I don’t know enough about what’s going on within the union to have more of an opinion than this: Something stinks. These actions are probably related to some long term plan and it makes me nervous. Joseph Miniace is a sneaky little c########r. That chuckleheaded joking exterior is a front for a very devious man and I believe he’ll sign anything at this point to play for a little more time.

Yours in Solidarity and Paranoia,

Kevin
