The 401K is a perk, the pensions are mandatory

We’re going to get bad press no matter what happens. Accept it. The press reads everything that is written here. One of the subscribers is a reporter from the Daily Breeze, I know cause she has written to me to complain about the things I have said about her rag of a newspaper, etc.

You don’t negotiate from weakness or fear. The powers that be control the press and they will always bad-mouth us and perpetuate lies about the working man. It was the same in Harry’s day and it is worse now. Don’t expect a fair shake from the press cause you ain’t gonna get one.

And I am curious, has anyone thought that one day down the line the PMA just might want to replace our pensions with ONLY a 401K?? They have brought this up before in talks with us. I am in the 401K and now that the market’s doing rather well I am making money in my investment. When this first started it wasn’t so. The market is a rollercoaster ride and it ALWAYS goes down as much if not more than it went up. This is historically proven.

The 401K is a perk, the pensions are mandatory. We have to be careful not to allow PMA to play one off over the other. And remember if we get a “big&#; raise, (by the way what would be a “big&#; raise 5%??) others in this nation will get one too as has always been the case. Remember the UPS strike?? Well Fedx is non union (remember that when sending packages) and their employees got raises after the UPS drivers did as a result of the the UPS strike.

All working men and women, Union or not benefit from us and other strong Unions. Every working person that is non-union that has a paid vacation, sick leave, pension, paid holidays, health care, etc has it ONLY because of US and other Unions. This is something we should have a lot of pride in. Even the scum press benefits from Unions though don’t expect them to write about it.

Freedom of the press died and was buried in this country many years ago. They are more concerned about who’s getting blowjobs then the plight of the people.

Unless I am mistaken we are having a caucus this weekend or Monday and we should have some info as to what is going on. Remember if they come back with something and want us to vote on it fast we’re in trouble. Let’s take our time and REALLY study the proposals before we vote. Who knows we may even have a decent contract to vote on this time. Be about time huh??
