The more sisters and brothers we communicate or have discourse concerning the state of our great ILWU and its affairs, the more democratic and hopefully more responsible we will be to the needs of the union and its members. I also hope that the relatively current few voicing their opinions will not intimidate those who continuously feel that there is too much political infighting that they will not even come to a union meeting to see how the contract is progressing.
A strong union is reflected in its memberships attendence at a union meeting and their level of participation in its activities and fearless of whether one will remain in favor of the employer or the chief s/v.
In solidarity of keeping a strong and responsive ILWU,
