Walking Boss and Foreman’s new contract

I just got a look at the Walking Boss and Foreman’s new contract agreement.

They get $1.30 per hour raise in the first year, and $0.60 in each of the next 2 years. In addition, they get a $4.00 per hour 401K matching contribution up to 2800 hours per year.

That’s $11,200 of 401K contributions each year. Doesn’t that make our $2,000 annual maximum contribution pale by comparison.

By 2001, the 20% foremen will be making more than the Chief Supervisors and Supercargos. The 30% foremen will be making a lot more. It wasn’t that long ago, 1987 I believe, that a Chief Supervisor or Supercargo made the same daily wage as the foremen. What happened?

It’s time we negotiate our own contract, just like the foremen do.

Let me hear your thoughts on this matter.

Fraternally yours
