Just out of curiosity Jack, after you nod off, who is watching your partners back or the other union brothers and sisters you are working with????? Saw it happen one night. If it hadnt been for all the alert people on the job, yelling and honking the horns on our machines, a double backer, who doubles every night and day, could have killed the person they knocked down, pushed 10 more feet along the cement; instead of just hurting this person.

Dear Rich,
It only took me 17 years to get registered. Relax, enjoy life a little bit, and in 15 years or so youll appreciate what you have. Up here in Seattle we dont have the double back the way it is in LA. The thing that used to get me were travellers. I almost felt guilty the first time I went down to Portland after I got registered, their IDs are dispatched out of the same room.
Then two weeks later I got my travel pay. I EARNED the privilege to travel. What you do when you get registered is your business, dont go knocking somebody else till you do. If and when you become an A man and you still feel as you do, by all means work to change it. By then you will have EARNED that right.
Maybe Ill run into you this winter when I take thirty days in your sunny port. Before you start bitching (on deaf ears) about an out of towner taking your job, remember, I EARNED it. And if I start to nod off after working 10 doubles in a row, please gently shake my shoulder.
