With Computer dispatch, you don't need a hiring hall. PMA will call all the shots. You won't have a say about what jobs they send you to.
Thats what makes being a Longshoreman the best job in the world. Being able to pick and choose your job. The freedom to work when you want,where you want. Give that up, and you are like the steady men. Work where they are told, and when they are told. Letting them pay 85% of the hall sets it up for them to have the final say in how it's run. And little by little they will do just that.
