To the Members
It is time that we took a good look at the widows. They are entitled to a good life after we as members die. Why should the PMA cut my wife's pension so much that after the shock of her lifetime partner dying that they only get a percentage of the member's pension. I for one do not want my widow to live with this condition, which may end up in her final years selling everything she owns just to stay off low income housing and welfare.
The pension I worked for for 40 years should be continued to my widow until she joins me in the bound after death.
I believe that any member that is in love with their partner cannot debate this. And the widows could finally live as they expect, not as welfare people. Such as my Aunt Flo who was married to Lloyd 'Scotty' Scott who retired in 65 and now Flo lives in low income housing.
Thanks for the air-time,
Russ
