Why Local 98 gave registration to employers

Don’t be naive Russ – local 98 gave over the entire registration into their union to the employers because they did not have the brains, or the BALLS to do what was RIGHT: be the first foreman’s local on the coast to advance a WOMAN.

A woman, by the way, that had more senority and MANY more casual foreman hours than men being advanced before her. A woman that was told she was not even being CONSIDERED for advancement, simply because she was a woman. Is that RIGHT?

I think that those that came before us knew what was right and it was this simple for them: AN INJURY TO ONE IS AN INJURY TO ALL. Granted, it is a different world now, but we still know what is right and if we follow that principle and truely believe in it, we cannot go wrong.
