You are right, there were racial slurs involved that night. An officer was overheard calling the the families grieving sounded like “death wails” and that the gathering of friends and family was like a Kwanzaa celebration. The officer was not black, he was Puerto Rican. There was no camera, the slurs were overheard by officer Rodriguez. There are no charges that the the word “nigger” was even used. Even by witness accounts, the girl was not crying , she was semi-conscious.
