Alice in Wonderland

Already, the “Alice in Wonderland” show has begun. Yesterday, the Canadian Federal Minister of Labour was in Vancouver yesterday to ORDER that a settlement of the lockout be reached today at HIGH NOON, Or else the issue was to be decided in the Parliment of Canada!

1200 hours has passed with no word of settlement of the dispute. No problem; Recall the gathering at 1000 hours Sunday. A case of firm but threateningly flexible resolve.

Apparently, on Monday, Ronald MacDonald head of the Council of Forest Industries shall be escorting a snivel-party to Ottawa to plead a “force back to work case”. His delegation covers everything from the forest industry to purveyors of Christmas and Year 2000 trinkets.

There is one party in this saga that, so far, has avoided censure, namely Shell Oil which is a substantial shareholder in Sultran and a Multi-national corporation to boot. My opinion is that pressure should be applied to Shell Oil domestically as well as internationally.

In Solidarity,
