Hey,

Let our people Go

I agree – this was a great educational effort. It does suggest that the Seattle Police Dept. could use a bit of training in both crowd control and the constitutional rights of citizens. This lack was painfully evident from Tuesday to Friday night. Despite the media attention, thousands of people attended the many panel discussions, lectures and presentations. Seldom have so many people been educated so swiftly on a complex issue. This looks like the beginning of the end for WTO and its offspring.

Dear Sir,

Please read your history on issues related to these protests against the type of labor the WTO would impose if they could. Be reasonable, listen to us the layworkers in our great melting pot!

Respectfully Submitted

Let’s see now. W. T. O. has made a mess of a real nice city and now the police are in trouble. Now has the W. T. O. apologized? I think not but I would like to apologize for them. W. T. O. is gritty and wants to make more money off these third world countries and our labor.

Hey,

Release all union people. “Let our people go.”

“Let our people go.”

I like that!

“Go up, Brian,
Way up to Se-att-land.
Tell-o Schello-,
Let our people go!”

To Paul Schell, Seattle City Council members and Mark Sidran:

As a Seattle resident and an active trade unionist, I am outraged by the behavior of City officials during this past week. The police, under direction of Norm Stamper and Paul Schell, ignored vandalism masquerading as political protest, but tear-gassed, pepper-sprayed and fired on peaceful protesters. Stamper has shown himself completely unqualified to continue as any kind of ranking officer in the police department, and Schell should be promptly recalled. The City Council members have, for the most part, shown no leadership at all in supporting the grassroots efforts to reclaim our city. We knew in advance that the WTO, if it’s allowed to continue, would devastate our standard of living while keeping citizens of developing countries under the thumbs of the multinationals. We didn’t realize that the Mayor of Seattle and his police chief would instantly collaborate with the WTO to suspend the US Constitution in Seattle.

Fire Stamper - recall Schell!
