Thank you for writing Councilmember Licata about your experiences during the last week of the WTO in Seattle. Due to the high volume of messages he has received, it may not be possible to reply individually to each message he will do his best to get back to all of you. However, I want to inform you of a few items:
1. The Seattle City Council will host a public hearing and forum in the auditorium at the Downtown Branch of the Seattle Public Library at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8. There will be two forums: one on events Downtown from 4 to 4:45 p.m.; a second on events in the Capitol Hill neighborhood from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. Then, at 5:30 p.m., the public hearing will begin. The forums will be with community representatives and City Council members. Sign up for the public hearing begins at 3:30 p.m. This is the best time to make your comments directly to the City Council and the media.
2. The City Council will be establishing a review committee next Monday, December 13, to review the events surrounding the hosting of the WTO conference. The exact composition of this committee is not yet determined. However, Councilmember Licata will likely serve on it.
Sincerely,
Newell Aldrich
Aide to Seattle City Councilmember Nick Licata
