Action Mesothelioma Day 27th February, an event inaugurated by the British Lung Foundation and supporting organisations in 2006 to raise awareness of mesothelioma, a fatal cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, and to campaign for gov. research for treatment of mesothelioma and to prevent exposure to asbestos today. Public meeting in Manchester plus balloon release to raise funds for mesothelioma research.

HSE are launching a campaign on asbestos on Action Mesothelioma Day and targetting plumbers, electricians and other maintenance workers in Manchester and Liverpool.

We are urging trade unions to support the event in Manchester about asbestos and the fatal cancer mesothelioma and the campaign to prevent exposure to asbestos
