‘Virgin healthcare’ has been set up by Richard Branson to take advantage of the governments NHS privatisation policy. Virgin are bidding for the franchise of new GP surgeries - they will own the buildings and administration and will provide private health services, for those who can afford it, alongside the basic NHS services. They have organised a national roadshow to market this, and will be in Liverpool at Aintree Racecourse on Tuesday 19 February.
