Over two thousand sufferers of asbestosis or mesothelioma and relatives of those who have already died are demanding justice from Cape. Not one South African case has been heard and Cape has not paid one penny in compensation to South African victims. Cape has settled hundreds of British cases and by 1996 paid out millions in compensation.
