Demonstration – Join the international day of protest for the freedom of Mumia at the US Embassy (Grosvenor Square, London W1) on Saturday August 18, 12noon to 2pm.
The last few months have seen important developments in Mumias case.
- 5 March – Mumia sacks his legal team for actively sabotaging his defence.
- 4 May – Mumias new legal team reveals the existence of a sworn confession to the killing of officer Faulkner by a mob hit man (Arnold Beverly). The previous legal team had kept this evidence secret for the last two years!
- 3 July - Mumia petitions Judge Yohn to have Arnold Beverly formally deposed under court authority
- 16 July – Mumia files a 275 page Petition for Post Conviction Relief and/or Writ of Habeas Corpus in Pennsylvania state Court setting forth in detail how the murder of officer Faulkner occurred and how Mumia was framed.
- 19 July - Judge Yohn outrageously rules against the confessed killer being allowed to testify or that his affidavit admitting guilt be presented as evidence.
- 17 August – Mumia to appear at court hearing.
Next organising meeting of the Mumia Must Live campaign is on Wednesday 22 August, 7:30pm at Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, Holborn, WC1 (nearest tube Holborn). All welcome who support the campaign to free Mumia Abu-Jamal
