An apology from the Manager of the Hendon Hall HotelToday the manager of the above hotel rang, in response to my telephone calls over the weekend expressing concern that the hotel was hosting the JNF conference and its guest speaker, Tzipi Livni, on Sunday. The manager asked me to convey her deepest apologies to anyone who may have been upset by the hotels inadvertent acceptance of the JNF booking. The hotel staff did not know who the JNF or Tzipi Livni were. They were shocked by the demonstration on Sunday and by the telephone calls they received. They were angry that the JNF had not given any indication of the nature of the conference. The police had called to the hotel mid-week to do a security check for a visiting dignitary but not told them who she was. ( Dignitary? really? ) When the hotel manager asked me to explain who Livni was, I told her about the war-crimes in Gaza and Livnis role in planning and implementing the 22 day assault. She was distressed, shocked and very apologetic. She had quite innocently taken the booking. She had telephoned the JNF organiser earlier this morning and told him that he and the JNF organisation is banned in future from using the hotel again. (I hope this applies to the whole chain of hotels to which HHHotel belongs ). She offered a free nights B&B as a prize in one of our charity events as a gesture of apology. Please pass on this message to all involved. Well done everybody who phoned or emailed. If our government lacks any moral compass in hosting war criminals, let us target the hotels to prevent these vicious war criminals finding hospitality in the UK. Hotel management might have more humanity than our politicians. warm wishes, Anne |
