UNISON Manchester Community & Mental Health
As part of the TUC NHS Together Day of Action
Saturday 3rd March 2007

Rally & Demonstration in Manchester
Assemble 12 noon in Albert Square
12. 30: March around city centre,
back to rally at Albert Square (outside M/cr Town Hall)

250 Manchester Mental Health workers are striking against cuts in jobs and services, downgrading of jobs, and threats of privatisation.

NHS Primary Care Trust services could be transferred to the private sector - making things worse for patients and staff. We oppose this.

We invite all trade unionists, NHS support groups and campaigns to support our demonstration - bring your placards about your local issues.

Rally speakers:

Karen Reissmann, Mental health worker in Manchester and delegate to UNISON’s national health service group executive; Marie Lloyd, Chairperson of UNISON North West Regional Health Committee and Branch Secretary of UNISON Ormskirk & Southport Health branch; Greater Manchester Keep Our NHS Public; Merseyside Keep Our NHS Public; Roger Bannister, North West Regional delegate to UNISON National Executive Council; Ian Allinson, Amicus Senior Rep Fujitsu

Plus invited: Joyce Horan, Amicus Health Sector National Committee
